Japanese "orin" singing bowl
Japanese "orin" singing bowl
Enhance your mindfulness with a beautiful bell from Japan
This “orin” bell, Japanese singing bowl, has a beautiful tone that instantly focuses the mind and clears the air.
We use it for zazen meditation, but also leave it in a central place in our house so we can ring it whenever we feel the need. Especially when the mind needs to be calm.
Whether you plan to display it in your space or bring it with you when you travel, the small size of the orin is very appealing.
Its minimalistic beauty blends seamlessly into any environment, from a meditation corner to an office desk.
The interior is crafted from wood with a natural finish, and the ringer conveniently sits inside when not in use, maintaining both practicality and a clean aesthetic.
We love how stylish and compact it is, and are confident that you will love it too.

The orin is a traditional Japanese singing bowl, used in Zen practice to signal the start and end of meditation, helping to bring focus and closure to the experience.
Nowadays, small orin are often found inside Japanese people's house next to the Buddhist alter where respects are payed to family members who have passed away.
We use this orin for mindfulness, but it could also be used when making a prayer in this way.

About the maker
About the maker
The orin is made in Toyama Prefecture by Seo Seisakujo, a family-run business and maker of bronze items that was founded in 1935.
Takaoka, the city where the company's workshop is located, has been at the heart of Japan's bronze working for more than 400 years and is well-known in Japan for the high quality metal products such as singing bowls made there.
Seo's workshop carries on the traditions and techniques passed down in Takaoka since the Edo Period, and they take care to ensure every detail of each piece they produce is just right.
The secret to the orin's exceptional tone:
To give the orin singing bowl it's superior tone, craftsmen carefully heat the metal to give it just the right hardness, ensuring a wonderfully clear sound.
